Inaugural Kal’s Got Talent to shine spotlight on local talent during Youth Week celebrations

A spotlight is set to shine on talented young people of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, with an inaugural talent show being hosted in celebration of Youth Week.
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is hosting its first-ever Kal’s Got Talent on April 11, encouraging young people aged 12-25 to take centre stage and showcase their skills in front of a live audience.
Mayor Glenn Wilson said Kal’s Got Talent would make for an exciting new addition to the city’s Youth Week program.
“There’s a lot of young talent in Kalgoorlie‑Boulder, and this event gives young people a chance to get up, build their confidence by having a go and share what they can do,” he said.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing the range of performances on the night and having the community come along to support them.”
Participants can perform across a wide range of categories, including vocal, dance, instrumental, band or groups, spoken word or poetry, comedy and cultural performances.
Entry is free and registrations are open until 5pm, March 30.
Kal’s Got Talent will run from 6pm to 8.30pm at the Lord Forrest Precinct on April 11.
A range of other activities are being hosted around the city to coincide with Youth Week, which runs from April 10 to 16.
