The next generation of female footballers travelled from Derby District High School to Broome North Primary School for a competitive match last week.

Two teams of Year 4, 5 and 6 girls faced off last Friday, guided by coaches Michael Embley and Graeme Campbell.

DDHS youth education officer Michael Embley said his team usually consisted of around 20-30 girls for training once a week, with Auskick on Thursdays and a game being held once a school term.

“The girls have been training together for a while, playing together and having fun — we try to tee up a game with a different school in each term,” he said.
