Broome detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a service station in the Kimberley town in the early hours of this morning.

Police said that the offenders entered the 24/7 store at about 3.45am this morning and stole two cash drawers containing an unknown amount of cash.

Broome Police Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Les Andrews said the investigation was still at very early stages.

“Nobody was hurt during the armed robbery, but the staff at the service station were understandably quite traumatised,” he said.

Police are urging community members to contact Broome detectives on 9194 0223 or Crime Stoppers on 18900333000 with any information.

In particular, investigators are requesting the Broome community to look in their yards for any discarded cash drawers in their yards or verges. The cash drawers are dark in colour with a silver metal base and made of thin metal.
