A record amount was raised by about 100 prominent donors at the weekend for the Rob Broadfield dinner for Telethon.

Guests arrived to Broome by plane for the annual weekend on Friday night.

The group enjoyed a private cruise on the Karma IV vessel, before the dinner for Telethon at a function house on Gantheaume Point, with food cooked by Leeuwin Estate executive chef Dany Angove.

The weekend’s events ended with a lunch by Petition Kitchen chef Jesse Blake at Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa’s ocean pool, where guests made the most of a warm day in the sun with a champagne.

The West Australian’s food editor Rob Broadfield said the weekend raised more than $450,000 for Telethon.

“The weekend was absolutely spectacular and I’ve had such positive feedback from guests,” he said.

“There was record fundraising, tremendous food and the long-table family-style dinner at Gantheaume Point was the highlight of any Rob Broadfield dinner.”

Mr Broadfield joked that, “sales in Berocca peaked in Broome over the weekend”.
