Rodeo and campdraft competitors and enthusiasts are gathering from across the Kimberley for the Fitzroy Valley Rodeo Club’s 2017 campdraft and rodeo this week.

It is expected to be a huge weekend of bucking action as spectators head to the Fitzroy Crossing Rodeo Grounds from Friday-Sunday, from 7am onwards.

Friday is a must-see event with a $2500 open campdraft and maiden, mini, encouragement, junior, juvenile campdrafts with a Diamond of the West open campdraft, also with a $2500 prize.

Day two on Saturday rounds up with the ladies’ campdraft, novice campdraft, the second round of Diamond of the West, the finals for novice, ladies’, open and Diamond of the West campdraft, second division station buckjump, open rides for bull ride and bareback bronc.

Head down to the gymkhana day three on Sunday for the ladies’, open, novice and junior barrel races, steer wrestling and poddy rides, along with the finals of the open saddlebronc and open bullride.
