The unsealed section of the Broome to Cape Leveque road claimed another fatality over the weekend.

Major Crash are investigating a single vehicle accident that happened about 1.20pm on Saturday, approximately 20km north the Manari Road intersection.

Police said a Toyota Prado travelling north drifted to the incorrect side of the road and into an embankment on the eastern side of the road.

The vehicle rolled, coming to rest on its side.

The 31-year-old driver from Broome died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

The four passengers, a 33-year-old-male and three females aged 23, 25 and 35 were treated for minor lacerations and shock.

A man died after his four-wheel drive rolled on an unsealed section of the same road, about 10km north of Manari Road, in June this year.

Main Roads was expected to start bituminising the remaining unsealed 90km section of the 200km long-road next year as part of staged process of works expected to take about three years.
