Cable Beach has been closed to swimmers after a confirmed croc sighting earlier today.

The Shire of Broome closed the beach after a saltwater crocodile, about 4m, was spotted in front of the Broome Surf Life Saving Club.

Parks and Wildlife Service urged the public to be cautious and “stay well away from the water’s edge.”

Sightings can be reported to PWS Broome office on 9195 5500.
