Christmas cheer was spread around town on Saturday as a bike club set off on their mission to put a smile on the faces of the disadvantaged.

Broome Motorcycle Enthusiasts bikers rode through the streets of Broome for the annual Toy Run in the early hours of December 9 — and jingled all the way.

The group strapped unwrapped toys to their bikes before delivering the presents to local child support organisations at Male Oval.

BME member and event organiser Andy Bubb said there was close to a record number of volunteers who took part in the ride this year.

“We enjoy doing our part for the community and helping the kids out at Christmas,” he said.

“Thank you to everyone that joined us and for making the Run a success yet again.”

The event coincided with the Broome RoadWise Committee’s Belt Up Barbie at the oval, where locals met for a sausage sizzle and information session about road safety.
