Aircraft makes forced landing near Derby

An aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in the remote Kimberley outback early this morning.

WA Police said the chartered aeroplane landed about 70km from Derby at 8am and the three people on-board were picked up by helicopter soon after.

It is understood the trio were taken to Derby Hospital but were not injured.

Police said they were not called to the scene in the first instance.
