Gardening royalty to share secrets as part of City of Karratha’s Ready Set Grow competition

Gardening royalty Sabrina Hahn will host two gardening workshops in Karratha during June as part of the City of Karratha’s Ready Set Grow gardening competition. Launched in 2020, Ready Set Grow aims to increase awareness and community participation in crime prevention and community safety initiatives. The two gardening workshops are set for June 15 at the Karratha Community Garden and June 16 at the Dampier Community Garden. Hahn has been a gardening show host on ABC Perth for 27 years with more than 35 years of experience in the horticultural industry and will bring her wealth of knowledge to the workshop sessions. Hahn will also hold a special author talk and Q&A session with Kelly Gudgeon at the June Libraries After Dark session. Karratha mayor Daniel Scott said he looked forward to seeing the entries in this year’s Ready Set Grow competition. “Our Ready Set Grow competition puts our best gardens on display across a wide range of categories, with the quality increasing each and every year,” he said. “I encourage everyone with a garden they are proud of to enter our competition, or to come down to one of the two workshops for what should be an educational experience.” Entries are currently open and close July 7.
