State Grants open to support youth engagement projects

Broome Youth engagement groups could receive a hefty funding injection thanks to the opening of the 2025 WA Youth Engagement Grants Program. The grants program is designed to fund projects which foster young people aged 10 to 25 to contribute to their surrounding communities. Grants up to $5,000 are available for short-term, one-off activities or initiatives, with $10,000 endowments available for longer-term, strategic initiatives that include the broader community. The program will prioritise projects or initiatives that support, inform and build capacity of young people, with a particular focus on developing valuable life skills building financial literacy skills, education and career guidance, or supporting young people to live independently. Youth Minister Hannah Beazley said the program has previously been successful in empowering young people, which has a positive ripple effect on the wider community. “This program has historically delivered some great events and workshops that empower, support and up skill young people to help them achieve their goals, “ Ms Beazley said.
