Forget the stunning views of our glorious coastline and the architecturally designed spiral staircase created from a single pipe - this spectacular North Beach home has a shoe closet Carrie Bradshaw would die for.

So impressed were the judges at this year’s Master Builders-Bankwest Housing Excellence Awards by the multi-level resort-style mansion built by Spadaccini Homes they named it as the top home of 2022.

The four-bedroom five-bathroom house was designed by Shayne Le Roy and boasts a fully equipped gym area with kitchenette, pool, sauna and steam room as well as a stand-alone studio with four-car garage, living, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom facilities.

More than 300 houses competed in 29 categories at the annual awards which aim to showcase and reward first-quality craftsmanship, commitment to building excellence and the highest professional standards.

Chief Judge Robert Shaw said the past 12 months had been tough on the industry but the entries for this year’s awards had not only “surpassed anything” they had expected but were an example of the industry’s resilience.

Master Builders executive director John Gelavis said he was impressed by the high calibre of entries in what had been “a uniquely difficult year”.

“During such unprecedented times, we were pleased to see our members continuing to strive for excellence,” he said.

“It has been an extremely challenging year, and despite setbacks, we have seen some incredible work produced.”
