Jenny Mutter Senior, who now lives in Port Denison, buried a time capsule in Three Springs 20 years ago and this Saturday the town has plans to dig it up.

She said she was surprised to hear the capsule had not been forgotten and was looking forward to going back to Three Springs on the weekend for the occasion.

“I think it’s great people are appreciating how important those little things can be to country life,” she said.

She said she couldn't remember what was in the box.

“Probably memorabilia...symbols of those times,” she said.

The capsule will be dug up as part of the North Midlands Project and Act-Belong-Commit’s Three Springs community day, which will also involve music and art workshops.

Three Springs program officer Stacey Pajich said she would feel like a little kid digging up the box.

She said she wanted as many past and present Three Springs community members as possible to witness the excavation.
