Round five of the Geraldton motocross season was run in perfect conditions last Sunday, with clear skies and a track that had been prepared to perfection by hardworking volunteers.

Riders across all divisions gave it everything they had, producing tight racing, daring overtakes and plenty of entertainment for the crowd.

From juniors through to seniors, the day was a celebration of community spirit and motocross grit, with every competitor leaving nothing behind.

Local rider Darcy Drew, who rides in the 65cc and 85cc competitions, enjoyed the day and reflected on his season.

“I’m very happy with my season so far, we have done some travelling competing in State rounds and currently sitting in top five for the southwest series,” he said.

Attention now turns to round six, the last points round of the season, which will take place on Sunday from 9am.

With season standings on the line, it promises to be a blockbuster day of racing, and spectators are encouraged to come along and cheer the riders on as they fight for every last point.

Club spokesperson Makala Edwards spoke highly of the season.

“The club is delighted with our season and over the moon with our tri-series results,” she said.

“We are looking forward to capping our season of this weekend with our final points round, where we are doing our raffle for a superb Honda CRF 110 2025, which will be drawn during our special twilight round in October.”

The Geraldton twilight round is set for October 18 and will feature a junior and senior shootout under the lights, cash prizes, holeshot awards and plenty of action.

With the track lit up and the adrenaline high, it’s shaping up to be a must-see event for both fans and families.
