Iran has made a chilling public call out, asking Iranian youth, artists, athletes and students to stand in the way of possible US strikes and form a human shield to protect Iran’s future.

Iran’s Ministry of Sports and Youth put out a call for a “human chain” to be formed around power plants and energy facilities as US President Donald Trump threatens to blow them up.

Iran’s Deputy of Youth Affairs, Alireza Rahimi, claimed the idea had actually come from Iranian youth and students, sharing the message to gather around sites from 2pm local time on Tuesday.

“This action (the human chain) has been formed at the suggestion of the youth themselves,” Mr Rahimi said.

“A number of university youth, young artists, and youth organisations proposed that we form a human ring or human chain around the country’s power plants.”

The call, made on Iranian regime aligned media Nour News, has been verified as authentic.

It follows Mr Trump erupting at Iran in an expletive-laden threat over the Easter weekend, demanding the Strait of Hormuz reopen by Tuesday (local time).

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F....in’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.” the US President wrote on Truth Social.

The call-out for a human chain to be formed around energy sites is slightly earlier than Mr Trump’s deadline. The chain would commence just 13 hours before Mr Trump’s deadline for the Strait of Hormuz to reopen.

Mr Rahimi said the chain would be a “symbolic action” to protect the country’s assets and a sign of the commitment to build a bright future.

“This symbolic action is called the ‘Human Chain of Iran’s Youth for a Bright Future’,” Mr Rahimi said.

“We hope that with the participation of young people across the country, this human chain will be formed around the power plants, and it will be a sign of the youth’s commitment to protecting the country’s infrastructure and building a bright future.”

Online, one critic labelled Iran as “disgusting animals” for putting a call out for the citizens to form a human shield from Mr Trump’s potential US attack.

“Iranian state TV is now calling on Iranian children to surge to power plants so they can be HUMAN SHIELDS against President Trump. Students, youth, and almost everyone is invited to shield key infrastructure tomorrow DISGUSTING ANIMALS,” Eric Daugherty wrote on X.

According to multiple reports, hospitals in Iran are preparing for the possibility they may lose power imminently if the US President follows through with his threat.
