Punters across the Goldfields are frantically checking their Lotto tickets after a mystery player scored a mammoth jackpot at the weekend.

The Kalgoorlie player was one of two lucky Sandgropers who walked away from the Saturday Lotto draw as millionaires, with the duo each nabbing a jaw-dropping $1.5 million after claiming the division one windfall.

The monster win is the first division one jackpot out of the Goldfields capital in 2026 — leaving residents across the mining hub ecstatic over the punter’s good fortune.

The winning ticket was purchased at Kalgoorlie Newsagency, with owner Kerry Holman revealing she was thrilled to discover one of her store patrons was now a millionaire.

“We’ve had a lot of people coming in to check their tickets,” the boss of the Hannan St business revealed.

“This is our fourth division one winner in 20 years and it’s always so exciting when we have a winner.

“When it’s a big prize, it’s even more exciting!”

It wasn’t just the Kalgoorlie punter who won big, with a lucky player in Perth’s south also taking home a $1.5m prize from the draw.

The metropolitan local bought the division one winner from Wattleup News and Post — with the jackpot being owner Lien Nguyen’s first major win since she took over the newsagency five years ago.

“We’ve had lots of regulars calling in to see if it is them,” she said

“I really hope it is one of them who takes home the prize.”

Lotterywest spokeswoman Nikki Wilson-Smith said the Saturday Lotto wins were an exciting moment for both the winners and their local communities.

“We are delighted to congratulate the teams at Kalgoorlie Newsagency and Wattleup News and Post,” she said.

“We wish the winners all the very best as they enjoy this incredible moment.”

The winning numbers from the Saturday Lotto draw were 32, 44, 40, 13, 18, and 42. The supplementary numbers were 37 and 27.
