A Perth couple has a lunch break in the South West to thank for making them Lotto millionaires.

The couple, who are aged in their late 40s, won $2 million after deciding to stop in Harvey for their lunch.

After their meal, the couple went to Harvey Newsagency and bought the winning ticket to Saturday’s $10 million draw.

They checked their ticket at their local newsagency in Perth when the staff member told them they had won a fifth of the jackpot, sharing the prize with winners from Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

“I checked the ticket at our local newsagency and was in complete shock when they quietly told me I had won,” the winner said.

“I’m still in shock to be honest, it’s life-changing news.

“I usually register all my tickets to my membership for safe-keeping but didn’t this time for no reason in particular.

“Thank goodness I didn’t lose the ticket!”

The winning numbers were 2, 13, 15, 18, 31, and 40, and the supplementary numbers were 26 and 36.

The couple plan to spend some of the cash on a family holiday and make their life more comfortable.

“It really takes the pressure off,” they said.

The win was WA’s 40th Saturday Division One jackpot for the year, with the winners sharing $52 million in prize money.
