The Kununurra Basketball Association’s indoor basketball competition started in spectacular fashion on November 21 at the Kununurra Leisure Centre basketball courts. Fans were treated to a showcase of intense athleticism and skill as all teams battled head-to-head in closely contested match-ups. The Warriors emerged as the early frontrunners, securing the top spot on the ladder after a nail-biting clash against the Hornets. The game lived up to its hype, going down to the wire but the Warriors managed to clinch victory and claim the biggest winning margin of round one, 42 to 36. Not far behind, the Pelicans soared to the second position on the ladder after a hard-fought battle against the Drifters. In another down-to-the-wire encounter, the Pelicans secured the win by a narrow two-point margin, 31 to 29. Black Magic showcased their prowess in a thrilling contest against the Suns, securing a three-point victory and claiming third spot on the ladder, 50 to 47. In round two the Drifters will face off with the Suns, the Warriors will take on the Pelicans and the Hornets will clash with Black Magic.
