Broome gymnasts shone this weekend, winning an array of medals for their region at the Pilbara Region Championships in Karratha. Drawing from the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne, The Go for 2&5 Pilbara Region Championships had gymnasts of multiple levels come together at Karratha Gymnastics Club to compete in women’s and men’s artistic sessions. Broome Pearl Coast Gymnastics Club, represented in levels three to six, did not fail to make the Kimberley proud. Level four gymnasts Lila Sibosado, Libby Milenkovic, Olive Longo, Marli Pigram and Zoey Russell cheered each other through the toughest moments, winning not only the respect of the competition, but also medals. Olive Longo showed an impressive display, placing in all apparatus’ and scoring fourth overall for the region in her level. Libby Milenkovic also walked away happy, placing in two apparatus’. Level five gymnast Indiana Russel and level six gymnast Mollie Milenkovic won bronze during their performance. The men’s artistic gymnasts Dylan Johnston and Solomon Rann represented the Kimberley, the latter placing in all apparatus’ and becoming overall champion for the region. This is the second championship event for Pearl Coast gymnasts in one month, having competed at the WA State Championships in Perth in late September.
