Blitzing Broome

Phenomenal Australian hip hop band Bliss N Eso say they are live, furious and ready to blitz Broome this Friday as part of their Running on Air biggest ever Australian tour.

The boys are heading to town after a Facebook competition was launched earlier this year and Broome was chosen and added to the list of venues after hundreds of fans casted their vote.

MC Eso said he was thrilled to be visiting Broome for the first time, and it was a rare treat to reach out to fans in remote areas.

“Fans in rural areas are hungry and thirsty for live acts and we’re stoked to be coming to Broome,” he said.

Since releasing their fourth studio album Running on Air last July, the boys’ success has rocketed and they’ve never been busier.

After debuting on the Australian ARIA charts at number one, the album knocked Eminem off the top spot, and the boys have enjoyed touring the country and beyond.

The boys exploded onto the hip hop scene in 2000 with bold lyrics, thumping beats and extravagant shows. Known for their unique style and sounds, the boys have scored a string of accolades with tracks including Addicted, Eye of the Storm and Down by the River. They’ve cracked the States, supported acts including renowned bad boy 50 Cent, and scored a platinum album in a short succession.

No stranger to hardcore hip hop fans, Bliss N Eso have headlined slots on some of the country’s biggest festivals, including The Big Day Out and reeled in fans with their incredible, unpredictable and visually dazzling performance on stage.

MC Eso said the guys have remained grounded since being catapulted into the limelight.

“We remind ourselves how we were at the beginning.

We were just three blokes writing and rapping as a hobby, now it’s become a passion and lifestyle,” he said.

Fast tracking to this Friday’s show at the Mangrove Hotel, Bliss N Eso will roar on stage in the exclusive outdoor area, and MC Eso said fans would get to listen to some new material.

“Our music is different and very flexible,” he said.

“It’s all about the rhymes, the beats and scratches and keeping it tight. There will be new songs, live instruments, smoke and fire, and pianos with lasers.”

Promising to be the biggest and best tour yet, MC Eso said the guys are always lifting the bar when it comes to their heart-stopping performances, and Broome crowds can expect an extravagant show.

“It’s about visualising the lyrics and translating that live on stage.”

Behind the scenes organiser Pete Davies of WotNow Entertainment encouraged fans to act quickly.

“People need to be there early to get the best possible place,” he said.

“It’s going to be a big sellout.”

Mr Davies said he wanted to thank the Broome community for their support.

Bliss N Eso will perform this Friday at the Mangrove Resort Hotel. Gates open at 6pm.
