Christmas Street Party brings festive cheer to Kalgoorlie-Boulder

The Christmas season started with a bang in Kalgoorlie-Boulder on Sunday as hundreds gathered in Boulder’s main street to soak up the festive atmosphere.

Hosted by the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the annual Christmas Street Party featured musicians and performers on the stage entertaining the crowd.

A range of community stalls lined Burt Street while food vendors in Loopline Park served up tasty treats.

Illuminated installations which form part of the City’s Christmas Lights Trail were stationed on the park’s grassed areas including reindeers, stars, and a giant walkthrough gift box.

A range of arts and crafts workshops, face painting, bouncy castles and a foam pit kept younger event attendees entertained throughout the day.

The event culminated with the customary lighting of the Christmas tree ceremony before a festive light show turned Loopline Park’s gumtrees into shades of red and green to the tune of festive songs.

The event culminated with an impressive fireworks display.

Earlier this month, the City announced it had erected the region’s biggest Christmas tree in Centennial Park, which stands at 15m tall and is touted as the third biggest in WA.
