Two drivers have been captured on dashcam footage fighting in the middle of a major expressway in South Australia.

The footage posted to Dashcams Adelaide shows oncoming traffic swerve out of the way to avoid hitting the male drivers as they throw punches at each other in the left lane of the Northern Expressway in MacDonald Park.

“These idiots are asking to be hit fighting on a 110km per hour freeway,” the post read.

A man pulls over in his car and approaches the men to try and break up the fight as cars, dump trucks and semi-trailers roll past.

A woman can also been seen in the footage trying to separate the two men as they tumble onto the busy road.

Police have not received any reports in relation to this incident yet but encouraged those involved to come forward and contact them.

“Anyone who witnesses this type of behaviour is asked to call the Police Assistance Line immediately on 131444,” a police spokesman said.

The behaviour was condemned by people who commented on the post who said it was a foolish place to stop on an expressway.

“Darwin award,” one person said.
