Hundreds of spirited football fans rugged up in their team colours and braved the rain to cheer on their teams at the Upper Great Southern Football League 2025 grand final in Katanning on Sunday. The recently refurbished Quartermaine Oval was filled with a sea of flags and signs for four thrilling games which started off with the youngsters and finished with the league clash. Wagin were the first victorious team and the home crowd came to life after a late goal in the thirds decider as Katanning Wanderers emerged as premiers in a terrific finish. In the two senior games, spectators lined the oval and grandstands to witness the action, Wagin claiming a second premiership on the day as their reserves triumphed. The biggest cheer was left for the Wickepin supporters, with red and white prominent among the spectators as they urged their side on to a 25-point win in the biggest game of the year.
