Snapshot in Time: 1960s image shows tourist hub, Kombi van airport shuttle, and public appeal thermometer

In the 1960s the Geraldton Tourist Bureau was in the old Commercial Bank premises on the corner of Marine Terrace and Cathedral Avenue. Featured in this photo is the Mac Robertson-Miller Airlines Ltd (MMA) VW Kombi van which operated as an airport shuttle bus at the time. Geraldton’s new offices for the MMA opened in Marine Terrace in 1975, located in part of the former Willocks store. The photo also shows the Police and Citizens Youth Appeal had reached a tidy target of nearly £2500. Snapshots is an initiative of the Geraldton Regional Library.
