Major crash officers appeal for witnesses to come forward over May 2023 hit-and-run of cyclist in Geraldton

Police have launched an appeal for any fresh information and a pair of witnesses to come forward over a hit-and-run of a cyclist on a Geraldton highway two years ago.
Major crash investigation section officers are calling on the public’s help as they re-examine the case, which occurred in Mt Tarcoola on Thursday, May 4, 2023.
They say about 2.30pm a cyclist was riding his distinctive red racing style bicycle in a northerly direction within the cycle lane of North West Coastal Highway. He was towing a yellow single wheel trailer at the time.
The man — now in his 70s — lost consciousness when he was struck by a vehicle, causing him to fall off the bike and hit his head. He was wearing a helmet.
Two members of the public stopped to help the cyclist as he regained consciousness.
Police are appealing for those male witnesses, or any members of the public who may have information, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report details online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
