Building fire causes closure of Adelaide Terrace in East Perth

A building fire in East Perth caused the closure of Adelaide Terrace in both directions.

Emergency WA reported the structure fire at 4.35pm, after receiving an alarm alert for the blaze.

A Department of Fire and Emergency spokesperson said crews from Osborne Park, Kensington, Perth and Vincent were sent to the scene.

Crews are ventilating the building after they extinguished the blaze just before 5pm.

Main Roads WA closed Adelaide Terrace between Bennett Street and Plain Street, before it was reopened at 5.39pm.

Motorists are urged to stay away from the area as the left lane is is blocked and traffic is slow on approach.

Police also attended the site.
