Victoria Park arrest: Geraldton man accused of throwing roof tiles at cop after allegedly hitting cars

A man on the run from police allegedly threw roof tiles at passing pedestrians after scaling a building along the busy Victoria Park restaurant strip on Saturday afternoon. One of the tiles allegedly struck an officer, causing a minor injury. Police eventually arrested a 28-year-old man, who they say had earlier hit multiple vehicles while driving erratically through Mt Lawley, the CBD and Victoria Park. His severely damaged Ford Falcon had been abandoned on Albany Highway just a few blocks away from where his standoff ended after police negotiators were called in. The Geraldton man was due to face court on Sunday charged with endangering lives, reckless driving, assaulting a public officer, attempted vehicle theft and driving without a licence.
