Police charge Byford man with murder after fatal stabbing at Aubin Grove shopping centre on Christmas Eve

An 18-year-old man has been charged with murder over the stabbing death of a 19-year-old man in Aubin Grove on Christmas Eve. About 10.40pm on Wednesday the victim was found with stab wounds in the carpark of an Aubin Grove shopping centre on Talisker Gate, police said. He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later. Following a homicide investigation, detectives confirmed on Saturday that an 18-year-old Byford man, who was known to the victim, had been charged with murder. Two other men known to the victim are assisting police with their inquiries. The accused appeared in Court on Saturday and will remain in custody until he faces the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on January 7. Police do not hold public safety concerns and described the stabbing as an isolated incident.
