Homicide detectives are probing the death of a woman on Christmas Day in Broome. Police say the woman, aged in her 30s, was found with serious head injuries on Roe Place in the suburb of Cable Beach about 6pm on Monday. She was rushed to hospital for treatment but later died. Broome detectives and the homicide squad have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the woman’s death. A man aged in his 30s is currently assisting police with their inquiries. No charges have been laid. It comes just a month after a man was allegedly stabbed to death on the same street on November 21. Police were called to Roe Place about 9am and found the 27-year-old man with critical injuries. Officers provided first-aid to the man until paramedics arrived but the man died at the scene. Ian Ralph Brooke, 21, has been charged with the man’s murder.
