Gosnells: Detectives probe terrifying hit-and-run after man struck by 4WD during late night walk with friend

Detectives are probing a terrifying hit-and-run after a man was struck by a 4WD during a late night walk in Perth’s south east. Police say the 36-year-old was walking with a friend along a footpath near Corfield and Verna Streets, in Gosnells, when a white 4WD wagon — fitted with bull bars — mounted the footpath and smashed into him about 9.30pm on Sunday. “The impact caused the victim to collide with a Colourbond fence on the corner of Corfield and Verna Streets,” a police spokesperson said. He was rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital for medical treatment. The vehicle did not stop and fled the scene, with detectives continuing their hunt for the driver on Monday morning.
