Cops arrest man in Fannie Bay on grooming charge within a week of busting a Rural Area man for the same offence

POLICE have arrested a 25-year-old Darwin man for allegedly possessing child abuse material while also allegedly attempting to procure more abusive images from up to 10 children. Detectives arrested the man in Fannie Bay on Friday and seized his mobile phone which allegedly contained child abuse videos and evidence he was grooming the other children. Investigators charged him with two counts of possessing child abuse material and one count of grooming and he was remanded in custody to appear at the Darwin Local Court on Monday. Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team detective Acting Senior Sergeant Paul Lawson said the man’s alleged behaviour was “despicable”.
