Troy Mercanti pleads guilty to entering the Local House Bar & Grill in Cockburn despite licensed premises ban

Notorious Mongols bikie Troy Mercanti has admitted breaching a prohibition order by entering a Cockburn Central bar. During a brief hearing in Perth Magistrates Court on Friday, Mercanti pleaded guilty to attending the Local House Bar and Grill on August 8 while subject to a strict order banning him from licensed premises. No details of the breach were read out in court. A second charge of breaching a barring notice, alleging he entered a Guzman Y Gomez outlet in Leederville on August 13, was dropped by Magistrate Elizabeth Woods. When asked what he was doing at the Local House Bar and Grill, Mercanti said: “I can’t make any comments on that one but I can tell you this, police suck.” Police said detectives became aware of the first alleged breach on August 8 during the investigation of an “unrelated incident”. The West Australian understands that incident was the death of a man, aged in his 60s, outside The Local House Bar & Grill in Cockburn Central late in the evening. Emergency services were called to the scene in about 11.40pm when the man was found unresponsive outside the southern suburbs pub. Despite the efforts of first responders, he could not be saved. It is understood that police learnt Mercanti was at the licensed venue earlier the same day. The West Australian is not suggesting Mercanti had anything to do with the death. Mercanti remains on bail and is due back in court for sentencing over the Cockburn breach on October 3.
