Willie Creek Pearls partners with Olivia Newton-John to co-design pearl pendant supporting cancer research

Broome pearls will soon be used to find kinder cures for cancer as Willie Creek Pearls join forces with a renowned Australian actor to fund scientific research. Willie Creek Pearls and Dame Olivia Newton-John have partnered up to co-design an 18 carat gold Australian South Sea Pearl pendant, with 30 per cent of the proceeds of the pendant sales to go directly to The Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund. Focused on cancer research, the ONJ Foundation Fund supports the study of plant-based medicine to discover ways to prevent, treat and cure all cancers. Newton-John, a breast cancer survivor, said she was excited to partner up to raise funds for plant medicine. “As a home-grown Aussie, it just felt right to collaborate with an Australian family business who sustainably produce the best pearls in the world, which is also so important to me,” she said. “I couldn’t be happier to be a part of this family who share my dream to find an end to cancer.” The collaboration is expected to be ongoing, with more jewellery likely to be co-designed and a stunning collection to be developed in future. Willie Creek Pearls owner Robert Banfield said he loved working with the ONJ Foundation Fund to co-design the pearl pendant. “We are excited about sharing our beautiful pearls with the world and for helping fund research to find cures for cancer,” he said. “There couldn’t be a more iconic Australian for us to collaborate with.” The pendant design has been finalised and it is currently being manufactured before being sold through the Willie Creek Pearls showrooms and online store.
