Two women have been taken to hospital after an unmanned four-wheel-drive ran them over while watching the sunset at Gantheaume Point tonight.

Emergency services were called out at 5.30pm Friday night to the popular evening destination on the southern end of Cable Beach.

The Broome Advertiser understands a vehicle parked on the sand next to a tour group shifted, running over two members of the group.

St John Ambulance confirmed one woman aged in her 70s sustained bruising to her right elbow, left shin and forehead.

A second woman, aged in her 50s, was sitting on the beach when the four-wheel-drive ran over her right leg.

The 50yo woman was stretchered off the beach. Both were taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries under normal road conditions.
