Derby Tigers defeated reigning premiers Looma Eagles by five points in a thrilling away win on Saturday.

The first two terms were even with the Tigers holding just a three-point lead at the main break.

But the Tigers broke the shackles to lead by 31 points at the final break.

The Eagles fought back well but a last-gasp goal by Rhonen Maher got the Tigers over the line.

Derby Tigers will look to make it four wins in a row and end the Cable Beach Greenbacks’ winning streak when the two sides square off at Derby Oval on Saturday.

Looma Eagles will be hoping to record their first win of the season when they play Peninsula Bombers at Father McMahon Oval also on Saturday.
