BPAC fringe fundraiser Cabaret leaves crowd in stitches with irresistible night of hilarity and sex appeal

Audience members strapped themselves in for a wild and salacious night of entertainment at the Broome Civic Centre for the BPAC fringe fundraiser Cabaret last week. Dancers, singers and comedians from around Broome came together to put on a one-of-a-kind show full of juvenile fun and naughtiness, with sultry outfits drenched in glitter and sequins worn proudly in a rousing and unashamed display of sexuality. Broome’s adopted drag mum Jessica James hosted the event in her usual hilarious and irreverent style, roasting performers and audience members alike and dropping F-bombs left, right and centre in her delightful tone, leaving the audience in stitches. The Studio 34 dancers put on sexy performances in outfits that left little to the imagination, with the highlight being an uninhibited dance dressed in animal onesies to Bloodhound Gang’s The Bad Touch. The costumes were the most conservative of the night but the performance was the most explicit, with every sexual position conceived by man dropped into the jungle-themed dance number. The audience was also teased with a provocative pole dance with the dancers showing off their skills on the pole with amazing feats of seduction, strength and agility. The event was raised money for charity through drink sales and a lap dance auction for audience members which the crowd responded to positively, howling with laughter. One of the two lap dances was auctioned off for $360 but the big spender probably didn’t get what he was hoping for when a woman came out dressed up as a man to perform the lap dance, which had the crowd clutching their sides. The second lap dance auction winner got more than they bargained for as well, with six women still dressed in their animal onesies coming out on to the stage to perform the dance in a rib-cracking display. The performers’ talent shone through, with complicated dances and comedy routines performed without fault. The performance over-delivered for the ticket price of $35, with ticket holders getting a lot of bang for their buck. It was definitely one of the wildest and most hilarious nights out you can have in Broome.
