Tender for major Broome health projects open

Two key Broome health facilities are one step closer to being constructed with the State Government opening tenders for the town’s renal hostel and step up/step down mental health facility. The tender aims to create a more appealing opportunity for contractors while streamlining government processes. This approach aims to create a sustainable pipeline of work in Broome, leveraging the expertise of successful contractors in the design and construction of each project. Health and Mental Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson emphasised the importance of these infrastructure developments for local communities. “These are important infrastructure projects for the community in Broome,” she said. “The new step up/step down facilities will provide vital services and support for people with mental health issues in those communities, allowing them to remain close to family and friends while they recover.” Kimberley MLA Divina D’Anna also highlighted the significance of the Broome renal hostel project, which aims to improve renal support services in the region. “This facility will reduce the need for residents to travel to Perth for care, making essential services more accessible to the community,” Ms D’Anna said. As the closing date approaches, stakeholders in the Kimberley and beyond are encouraged to participate in this opportunity to strengthen regional health infrastructure. The tender is currently available on Tenders WA, with submissions due by October 11.
