A suspicious fire at Broome Hospital in the early hours of Friday morning has led to an investigation by local police.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services and police were called to a report of a fire at Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service on the corner of Anne Street and Robinson Street just after midnight.

The fire was quickly extinguished but damaged a front door, a doormat and a small area of the floor.

Police are urging anyone who saw any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles, or has any dash-cam footage of the area around the time of the fire to come forward.

Police said rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of an arsonist.
