An impressive hole-in-one from Stephen Kelly on the 18th capped off another successful Willie Creek Pearls Summer Cup for the Broome Golf Club recently. The sweltering weekend heat didn’t stop some of Broome’s keenest golfers taking part in the 12-hole competition on January 15. Riley Forde took out top honours across the 12 holes with 44 strokes, closely followed by Philip De Bruyn and Matt Clark with 45 and 46 strokes respectively. But it was Stephen Kelly who stole the day when he nailed an ace on the 18th in the nearest to pin competition. The previous night, Glen Dearle took out the weekly Stableford event with 21 points, followed by Azhar Hamid on 20 points and Julie Bonner on 19 points.
