State Government extends cheap airfares program with Qantas and Virgin to North West tourist destinations

Another tranche of heavily discounted flights from Perth to Exmouth, Kununurra and Broome have gone on sale in an effort to support the North West’s tourism industry. The State Government partnership with Qantas and Virgin will see more than 40,000 airfares available to the North West tourism destinations until 2022. Qantas will offer more than 17,000 tickets between Perth and Exmouth from November 2021 to December 2022 starting at $159 one way during the wet season and $169 during the dry season. Some 12,000 $249 one way tickets flying Virgin to Kununurra will be available for those travelling between March and September 2022 And those wanting to travel to Broome will be able to snap up more than $11,000 $199 one way fares with Virgin to Broome for travel dates between March and October 2022. Tourism Minister David Templeman said the discounted fares were an incentive for West Australians to keep exploring their home state next year. “Our ongoing partnership with Virgin Australia and Qantas, through the extension of the affordable airfare program, will play an important role in continuing to entice people to travel to these must-visit holiday destinations,” he said. "”I encourage everyone to take advantage of the discounts available and tick off some of our State's most desirable experiences from their holiday wish list next year — whether you walk along the white sands of Cable Beach, take in the Kununurra area's spectacular waterfalls or swim with whale sharks in Exmouth, it's sure to be a very special memory.” The program is expected to inject about $10m of visitor spend into the regional economy.
