Chances of victories for any beach volleyball team were washed away when round two of Broome Beach Volleyball’s 2020 season was cancelled at the eleventh hour.

An unexpected storm front dumped 53mm of rain on Broome last Wednesday night, bringing thunder and lightning along for the ride.

The heavy rainfall saw the pindan volleyball courts at Victory Life partially waterlogged, pictured, and officials raised concerns about the pindan potentially washing away, revealing the concrete underneath.

Just minutes before Set for Life, Islanders, Beta Blockers and Young Guns were due to take the courts for the first lot of fixtures, Broome Beach Volleyball’s Matt Noble made the decision to call off the games.

It is understood there will not be an additional round later in the season.
