Those looking to challenge themselves this wet season will be able to hit the track and pool for the return of the Dash and Splash series.

As it enters its ninth season at the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre, the latest series will run from March-May, with an event each month.

Shire of Broome sport and recreation manager Casey Zepnick said each event involved run and swim legs over short and long courses, with categories for men, women, juniors and teams.

“Dash and Splash 2019 series one will kick off on Friday, March 8,” he said.

“The long course, which is open to individuals and teams, is a 4km run followed by a 400m swim in the BRAC pool.

“The short course is a 2km run followed by a 200m swim, and is ideal for beginners, juniors, families and anyone just looking to challenge themselves.”

Mr Zepnick said the series had grown in popularity over the past few years, particularly in the junior categories.

“The ninth season will also see the return of the parent/child team category for any families looking to challenge themselves,” he said.

Later events in the series will take place on Friday, April 12, and Friday, May 10.
