Police are seeking information into the alleged armed robbery and assault of a pizza delivery driver in Old Broome.

It is alleged two people placed a delivery order to Dominos Broome to an address on D’Antoine Street they had no connection to around 8pm on Wednesday September 4 and assaulted the delivery driver upon arrival.

Broome detective Greg Wass said the pair allegedly chased the victim down the street after striking him over the head with an unknown weapon.

“There was a potential for serious injury but the driver had his motorcycle helmet on so he was uninjured,” he said.

“When we spoke to the driver he said he was hit with something that was too hard and loud to just be a hand.

“They then ripped his black motorcycle jacket off, took his black canvas cash bag, an ANZ eftpos machine and the canvas pizza hotbox.

“They also attempted to steal the scooter.”

Detective Wass said if the public find the missing items or have any information about the incident, they can contact Broome Police on 9194 9200.
