Open draws 100 players
Golf enthusiasts from across the State flocked to the Broome Golf Club to take part in one of the biggest events on the town’s golfing calendar: the Broome Golf Open.
More than 100 competitors put their skills to the test on the fairway during the two-day tournament last month.
Phil Marrs was named the overall winner of the tournament, finishing on 75 points.
He was closely followed by Paul Hope (73 points), Clinton Kimber (72 points), Darryl Gibbons (71 points) and Derby golfer John Devenny (71 points).
Overall winner out of the ladies was Ruth Dray, who finished with 70 points, followed by Colleen Duff (64 points), Judy Chappell (64 points), Liz Muenchow (63 points), and Bernadette Smith (62 points).
Broome Golf Club president David Leslie said excellent scores were recorded in perfect conditions and congratulated all that were involved in the Broome Golf Open from competitors to sponsors and committee members.
