Odash in top spot after clinching win from Gantheaume Pointers

Odash has moved to the top spot on the ladder after just clinching the win from the Gantheaume Pointers in round four of the Broome Basketball Association’s competition at the BRAC basketball courts on March 8.

It was a hotly contested and even match-up until the final minutes when Odash managed to push past the Gantheaume Pointers’ tight defence to sink the last few points and win the match, 29 to 21.

Odash’s Mario Rex scored the most points of the match with eight points. Gantheaume Pointers’ Gene Eaton was only a single point behind, making him the top scorer for the Pointers.

Then the Skywalkers had a spectacular win over the Raiders.

The Raiders put up a good fight, staying only several points behind in the first half before they fell back in the second half to let the Skywalkers take home the win after a slew of easy points, 66 to 35.

The Raiders’ Brendon Thomas was the top scorer for the match with 23 points and was closely tailed by the Skywalkers’ Bradley Hann with 22.

The Warriors chalked up yet another win, defeating the Tigers in a hard-fought clash.

It was another close match in the beginning until the Warriors proved once again why they are at the top of the competition, making several points in quick succession to secure the win, 47 to 35.

The Warriors’ Trevor Menmuir scored 22 points, making him the top scorer of the match. The Tigers’ Decovan Lane was the top scorer for his side with 15 points.

In the women’s competition, the Sky Breakers succumbed to the Pacers in an overwhelming defeat, 37 to 10.

The Pacers’ Madeleine Gordon scored the most points of the match with 14. Tamara Albert scored the most for the Sky Breakers with 4 points.

The Crystals took home the win after defeating the Broome Blitzers in a tough game, 28 to 20.

Broome Blitzers’ Telisha McGinty had 5 points and Mikaylah Bin Sali scored 7 for the Crystals.

The Raiders claimed a massive win over the Sharks, 33 to 9.

The Raiders’ Edith Boundry was top scorer of the match with 13 points. Elise Lindley was the top scorer for the Sharks with 4 points.

In the men’s social competition the Vipers drew with the Misfits on 44 points each.

The Cobras defeated BBC, 59 to 40.

And the Broome Gators crushed the Drifterz, 58 to 36.
