New Cable Beach art installation to feature historical photographs

Budding photographers are being urged to submit their best historical pictures for a new historical photo artwork at Cable Beach as part of stage two of the ongoing redevelopment.
The “Be Part of the Picture” campaign will see a permanent photo collage created using historical photos handed in by members of the community in the new central plaza area at Cable Beach.
Shire of Broome president Chris Mitchell said the project was a unique way for the community to be involved in shaping the visual identity of the redeveloped foreshore.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for locals to celebrate Broome’s character and history through images that mean something to them — and to see those memories become part of a lasting legacy,” he said.
Submissions are open until August 31 and can be uploaded online.
