New $20,000 grant scheme from Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation for flood-affected Aboriginal corporations

Indigenous corporations that have been directly affected by flooding can now apply for up to $20,000 to help repair their businesses thanks to a new grant scheme. The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation has released the 2023 Emergency Response Grants Program to support Indigenous corporations in response to the unprecedented flooding in the Kimberley. ILSC Group chief executive Joe Morrison said the grant funding would help flood-impacted Indigenous organisations get back on their feet. “We have been deeply saddened by the recent floods that have devastated communities across the Top End of Australia, resulting in the tragic losses and damage to property, businesses, livestock and wildlife,” he said. Eligible corporations with property in the declared flood disaster area can use the grants to immediately secure and clean up their damaged properties. Applications for the grant scheme close on May 31.
