A young girl whose name inspired a Broome business more than a decade ago has returned to see her namesake coffee stand thriving.

Mollie Ramsay, 12, was far from being able to reach the service window when Mollie Bean first opened in 2012.

“We had moved up from my husband’s farm to owner build an investment property and I saw the need for an early morning coffee for the tradies,” Mollie’s mum Julie Ramsay said.

“We went on to win Best Small Business Award in 2014.”

On a recent trip to Broome Mollie and her family couldn’t help but head over to see their old business, which they sold to current owners Blake and Roseanne Cousins in 2016.

The trailer is today much larger than the original setup. Ms Ramsay said patrons were fascinated to see Mollie next to her namesake van and hear her story.

The Ramsays now own a homewares and clothing store.
