A Broome man has pleaded guilty to a string of wheelie bin fires around the Kimberley town in March this year.

Robin Yamalulu appeared in Broome Magistrates Court on today via videolink from Broome Regional Prison.

He was initially charged with eight counts of criminal damage by fire after destroying a number of wheelie bins.

Seven of the eight counts of criminal damage by fire were today dropped by the police prosecution, leaving Mr Yamalulu facing a single charge.

Mr Yamalulu was also found in breach of a suspended imprisonment order issued by the Supreme Court in February this year.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in Perth’s Stirling Gardens District Court on July 24 for sentencing.
