Man dies after 4WD rollover near Broome

A man has died after a four wheel drive crashed into sand near Broome yesterday afternoon.

The 1987 white Toyota Landcruiser was travelling north on Cape Leveque Road, 10 kilometres north of Manari Road at 1.45pm yesterday when it hit the sand and rolled.

A 47-year-old passenger was thrown from the 4WD and suffered life threatening injuries.

He was rushed to Broome Hospital but later died.

Two other people in the 4WD were treated for minor injuries.

Major Crash investigators want anyone who saw the vehicle in the Broome to Waterbank area prior to the crash to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
